Wagon trail to Hell

Now here's a good movie I haven't seen in ages. Another forgotten relic of the VHS era. Back in the day I loved this little flick. I hope you do too.

It's time for a good old fashioned western horror anthology. GRIM PRAIRIE TALES!

Your link.

Grim Prairie Tales stars James Earl Jones and Brad Dourif as two travelers that meet up and share a campfire late one night. Dourif is the straight-laced character, Farley Deeds, while Jones is the rough around the edges toughie, Morrison.

Morrison is a bounty hunter on his way to deliver a body that lies slumped over his horse. The two begin exchanging scary stories and the film plays them out for you.

In the first story, Will Hare (who was in the previous Screaming Streaming film, EYES OF FIRE) plays the recipient of some frontier justice when he desecrates and Indian burial ground.

The second story is my personal favorite and follows a man who meets a pregnant woman traveling alone and offers her help. This one has a twist that you will never see coming! The film is worth watching for this episode alone.

The third entry features a family man who is forced to participate in a lynch mob.

The final story centers around a gunslinger who is tormented by the ghost of a man he has killed.

This one has a really cool animated sequence that you'll remember for some time.

All and all, this is a great anthology that uses the age old spooky campfire stories idea as its basis. James Earl Jones puts on his usual outstanding performance as the crude bounty hunter and Dourif nails his civilized city slicker character.
