It's SHIVERS from 1975.
And here it is.
Also known as THEY CAME FROM WITHIN and THE PARASITE MURDERS, SHIVERS is one of Cronenberg's early ventures into the body horror sub genre that he became famous for. In this film a doctor has bred a parasite that drives the host into a sexual frenzy. The parasite is your common horror movie variety. A gross slug-like beast that often exits through the mouth and enters the next host via any opening or through direct contact with the skin. Nasty!
It centers around a modern apartment building on an island in Montreal and the outbreak occurs there as the guinea pig to the doctor's experiment had already infected residents through her promiscuity. The poor victims vomit blood, have horrifying movements just below the skin, and suffer other hideous side effects of the slugs.
The doctor that uncovers the infection started by his old colleague then must survive the outbreak before the whole complex becomes infected.
This is a great early work with signs of what was to come in Cronenberg's later films. It's disgusting, demented, and gory. And those are meant as compliments.
