I'm going to be blunt and to the point. Today's Screaming Streaming is one you may want to pass on. It's pretty disgusting. Do I have your attention? You still here? Brave soul. Behold.
Today's film is a gross one from the bowels of Japan. It's GUINEA PIG: MERMAID IN A MANHOLE.
Here is the link to watch it, if you dare.
Guinea Pig: Mermaid in a Manhole. Oh geez, are we really going here?? The Guinea Pig films are a series from Japan. Some are extremely graphic simulated snuff films. One fooled a coked up Charlie Sheen who called the authorities after watching it, only to learn that, yes, it was fake. Graphic as all hell, but fake. Basic idea of these films is that they exist for the gross out factor or simply for the hardcore audience looking for the new shock. Mermaid in a Manhole is a prime example of both.
There's so few decent screenshots that I feel comfortable showing as a matter of fact, so we'll just get into the plot.
First of all, the Guinea Pig Films are fairly short. Less than your average feature films. Mermaid is no exception. So although it's graphic and foul, it won't take up your whole day if you decide to venture in. Might spoil it though, so no guarantees.
Mermaid in a Manhole follows a painter who finds a mermaid down in the sewers. For some reason, he goes down there for inspiration. OK, then! Anyways, he realizes this mermaid is infected with horrible sores from being exposed to the sewage and takes her home to rehabilitate her.
Her puts her in his bathtub and begins to paint her portrait. Her lesions get worse, springing nasty puss leaks, which she encourages him to use as hues to paint the portrait. Eek. That's damn near vomit inducing right there. Seems her leakage is pretty colorful and does indeed make decent paint. But as she further deteriorates, he tries to save her, only to be rebuffed and told to continue with the painting, even as worms begin to fall out of her rotten flesh.
OK, that should do it for the plot. You get the picture here. It's just a slimy mess of blood, puss, worms, and sounds that you would expect to accompany them.
If you do manage to hang in there and don't unfriend me on Facebook, congrats. Because that is no small feat. The other Guinea Pig episodes may be on the Screaming Streaming horizon. It just depends on how evil I want to be with you guys.
